Problem: During registration terms, students from two distinct commencement dates (August-March) are merged into one group, so it was necessary to have a quick display of the vacancies available.

Solution: We developed a system that features a unified display of registrations, vacancies available, etc. Therefore, the user does not have to do unnecessary calculations.

Problem: When searching the words “Escuela de Cocina” (Culinary School), the IAG’s website ranked roughly number 700; it was on page 70 of the search engine results.

Solution: We carried out a strategic analysis of the website components and successfully implemented a corrective action which allowed IAG website to rank within the first result page when searching “Escuela de Cocina”.

Problem: At the institute there was a big notice board where job ads were placed, so those students or alumni who wanted to apply for a job were required to send a printed CV. Then, a person used to analyze the printed CVs one by one to shortlist the candidates that best fit each job. This process was repeated for each job search.

Solution: We created a powerful search engine for all the CVs posted in the administrator. The job search went digital. Now students can view all job ads and post their CVs online. Today there are more than 7000 CVs posted on the Institute’s website. More than 1000 job ads are published every year. Besides, more than 6000 applications are analyzed and about 25000 CVs are sent directly to different restaurants, hotels, etc. HOWEVER, EVERYTING IS STILL BEING MANAGED BY ONE PERSON.

Problem:They had a system which required constant modifications because it did not allow changing anything. For instance, if a student passed an exam and they wanted to input that information into the system they had to change it. Our objective was to change that system for one that was more malleable and configurable.

Solution: We developed and implemented a fully customizable system by restructuring all data loading and removing all the encoding that was being used.

Problem: Planning has always been done on a spreadsheet, which makes visualization more convenient. Before all the information was input manually into the system, thus causing input errors.

Solution: We standardized the Planning spreadsheet and developed a system that now enables the user to import planning through the Excel spreadsheet. The system carries out different data validation and informs users of anomalous situations detected. It also enables agile data management.
